Report Text :

The Report Text belongs to the Descriptive Text which has a function to describe something either an object, a living thing or a general phenomenon.

Genre : Report

Social :
           To describe the way things are , with reference to a range of natural , man - made and social phenomena in our evironment

General Structure :

• Generic classification : Tells what the phenomenon under discussion is.
• Description tells what the phenomenon under discussion is like in terms of (1) paits, (2) qualities, (3) habits or behaviors , if living ' uses , if non natural.

Significant lexiogranimatical : 

Feartures 

• Focus on generic participants.
• Use of relational processes to state what is and that which it is.
• Use simple present tense (unless extinct).
• No temporal srquence.

What things can be explained in a factual report text ?

1. Animals (tigers, bears , frogs , etc).
2. Plants (trees , fruits , flowers , etc).
3. Things (cars , videos , razor brades , etc).
4. Social Phenomena (Juvenile delinquency , monetary cuises , etc).
5. Natural Phenomena (tornatos ,hurricanos , earthquakes , etc).

What's the characteristic of a factual report ?

• Use facts to explain.
• Gives details about a topic.
